Carrying the Torch

My own parents told me there were only two choices in life. Doctor or lawyer. I am the former. I wanted to be an opera singer, and I probably could have. I’ve been telling my own daughter for years that life’s too short to not do the thing you love. She’s a painter, so some of my cautionary advice must have rubbed off on her. It’s wonderful to see one’s dreams given new life in your children.
