Synopsis:
JANA is a fading B-movie actress who was famous for her roles in Amazon movies playing a variety of pre-Xena warrior-princesses. Nearing 40 she is desperately trying to keep her leg in the B-movie game and decides to pursue her fading career with a zealous fervor.
But new roles are elusive and the clock is ticking. Will she admit defeat or finally get her break?

From growing up in a Mennonite community in Linden, Alberta, to acting in B-movies in Los Angeles, to modeling in Italy, to directing independent films and television in Vancouver, Katrin Bowen has led a colourful life.
Katrin just directed her first feature film: Amazon Falls loosely based on her experiences as an 18 year old living in Los Angeles acting in B-movies. She is currently in pre-production on: the sexy and hilarious “Love Bites” and in development on two features, the semi autobiographical feature “Off Course” about her experiences modeling in Italy and a film about her parents: “Ellis and Louise”.
Katrin’s directing career began at Berkeley. For her graduation thesis she made an award-winning documentary on rap music: Spitting Reality. At 2004’s Vancouver Video poetry festival her short film, Someone won the Audience Choice Award, and Katrin was honoured to receive the Vision Award for Best Director. Almost Forgot My Bones won the Best International Film Award at the Chroma festival in Guadajara, Mexico and the Audience Choice award at the 2005 Vancouver Video poetry Festival. The Crazy 8s film: Sandcastle won the diversity award from CITY TV, and Edna Brown received a grant from the B.C. Arts council.
Katrin is an Alumnae of the University of California at Berkeley, The Cannes Producing Intensive, Women in the Director’s Chair and the Berlinale Talent Campus.
