April Telek wins Artistic Merit Award

WIFTV announces April Telek is the winner of the 2010 Artistic Merit Award

Vancouver – WIFTV is thrilled to announce that the 16th Annual Artistic Merit Award goes to actor April Telek for her outstanding and pitch perfect performance that captivated audiences in Amazon Falls.

We would also like to congratulate all the stellar nominees: Katrin Bowen (Amazon Falls, Director), Julia Ivanova (Love Translated, Director), Sara McIntyre (Two Indians Talking, Director), and Helen Slinger (When the Devil Knocks, Director) for their continued passion and commitment to raising the voice of women in the film industry.

Women In Film & TV Vancouver Announce Artistic Merit Award Nominees

Recently Women in Film & Television made announcements for the nominees of this years Artistic Merit Award. The recipient is chosen from the female filmmakers and performers in the 2010 Vancouver International Film Festival.

We are proud to announce that two of this years nominees, are none other than Amazon Falls’ own Katrin Bowen (Director) and April Telek (Lead Actor).

Congratulations to these two amazing women and to all of the other nominees as well.

This years recipient will be announced at the VIFF Closing Gala Friday, October 15th.

Amazon Falls on Indie Go Go!

Hi Amazon Falls fans!

As we all know Amazon Falls has been accepted to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) which is very exciting. And as the film is being submitted to several different film festivals worldwide, we’re trying to raise money to send the filmmakers to as many of the festivals that its accepted in.

If you’d like to donate its really easy, just go to Indie Go Go’s website. You can donate whatever you’d like, everything helps, and there are incentives for different levels of donations. You can also donate anonymously if you’d like. Check it out and show your support.

We are delighted to announce that Amazon Falls will have it’s world premier at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

We’ve been chosen as one of 6 films in the Canada First! programme — a selection of compelling stories from Canadian film talent.

What an honor to have TIFF select Amazon Falls to show at this world class event.
