The Denman cinema has a brand new projector and they’ll be showing “Amazon Falls” this Friday at 7 pm with Penelope Butenhuis’s “Awake” at 930pm come one come all!

Amazon Falls is playing this weekend the 8th,9th and 10th at 9:30 pm @ Cinema Parallele in Montreal.

Awards to Date:
“Amazon Falls” won the Best Debut Feature at the 2011 Female Eye Film Festival.Director Co-producer Katrin Bowen was a recipient of the Women in the Director’s chair feature film award and was recently bestowed with the Women In Film & Television 16th Annual Artistic Achievement Award.
Lead Actor April Telek won the VIFF 2010 Artistic Merit Award and the 2011 Leo Award for best female lead performance in a feature film.

Montréal, le mercredi 15 Juin 2011 – Amazon Falls prendra l’affiche au Cinéma Parallèle du 1er au 3 juillet. Pour souligner cette sortie, une séance spéciale présentée par la réalisatrice Katrin Bowen et suivie d’une petite fête aura lieu le 1er juillet.

This award is presented to a woman who has achieved a significant success in the field of film or television, or who has created a significant film or television production in the past year, and who is recognized for mentoring other women in the industry.
Katrin Bowen receives this award for her outstanding feature film debut Amazon Falls. “When the seed of the idea came for Amazon Falls, I was reminded of when I was an 18 year-old B-movie actress in a cutthroat town. During that time, I was mentored by a group of women who taught me the rules for survival. Rule number one was ‘Never Forget Your Girls’,” says Bowen. “I want to thank the WIFTV community who has been a huge support for me through the years. Your encouragement enabled me to step up to the plate and do the next to impossible. Thank you. And a deep thank you to the cast and crew of Amazon Falls and the WIDC Award with whom I share this honour.”

Vancouver – WIFTV is thrilled to announce that the 16th Annual Artistic Merit Award goes to actor April Telek for her outstanding and pitch perfect performance that captivated audiences in Amazon Falls.

This years recipient will be announced at the VIFF Closing Gala Friday, October 15th.

Hi Amazon Falls fans!

As we all know Amazon Falls has been accepted to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) which is very exciting. And as the film is being submitted to several different film festivals worldwide, we’re trying to raise money to send the filmmakers to as many of the festivals that its accepted in.

We are delighted to announce that Amazon Falls will have it’s world premier at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

We’ve been chosen as one of 6 films in the Canada First! programme — a selection of compelling stories from Canadian film talent.

What an honor to have TIFF select Amazon Falls to show at this world class event.

We have finished “Amazon Falls” and are now sending her off to festivals. We’ll let you know as soon as she’s accepted!

In the editing process, we’ve locked the picture after adding our LA footage. The film looks great!

Now we begin sound design and all things audio!
